Coaching Update
Monday, August 7, 2023
I hope this email finds you well. I unfortunately am writing to let you all know I have decided to step down as the girls varsity coach. This was not an easy decision for me to make but I am not able to commit the time to the season this year. I have always talked to you all about the most important thing to me was the team and making sure I can give my full commitment to it and no conflicts. As many of you know my daughter plays college ball and this is her senior year. Her team will be playing in Puerto Rico this December as well as Florida and then there will be senior night. I have tried to make things work the last few years and running around but I just knew talking with my husband I have to put being a mom first and know as a coach you players deserve your coaches full commitment and I would have many conflicts this season.
I have loved my last 10 years with the program. As I always tell you all at the banquets each year continue to believe in yourself, go for what it is you want in b-ball and life. Don’t ever let anyone tell you you can’t do something. If they do, prove them wrong.
I also know last few years have been some rebuilding years and you guys have put in so much work. I have worked with NAYB for many years and I know the talent and number of girls coming your way in the next 2 years. Keep your head up because the talent and help is coming and the winning will as well. Always remember if you stay together as a team and look out for one another you will accomplish great things on and off the court. I am grateful for the friendships I have made with many players along the years and I will always be here if you ever need to talk.
Take care
Coach Nikki
