Tough Loss After a Strong Start for North Against KP, 57-47

North Attleboro, 47 @ King Philip, 57 – Final – KP held North to just six points in the second quarter and then scored 24 in the third to break things open and pull away for a win. North led 16-13 after the first, as Maryellen Charette scored four points and Emma Faria knocked down a three for the visitors. KP turned things around with 15-6 second quarter. Tatum Morgan scored six points in the second and Erin Berthiaume added three to grab the lead going into halftime. KP’s offense exploded in the third. Morgan led the way with nine of her team-high 22 points in the frame and Berthiaume added another four points. Faria tried to bring North back in the fourth with five points and the Rocketeers held KP to just five points over the final eight minutes (all by Morgan). The damage had been done and KP remains a game out of first in the Kelley-Rex standings. Berthiaume finished with 13 points and Anstasiia Boiarchuk and Katie Stierer each scored five. Charette and freshman Isabella Houghton each scored 10 to pace North, while Faria finished with eight.
