Varsity: North Falls to Holliston, 43-35

The North Attleboro Girls basketball team fell to Holliston, 43-35, in the first game of the Taunton Holiday Classic on Thursday. Once again without senior star, Ava McKeon, North fought hard but ultimately could not overcome turnover issues in dropping its fifth straight game. North played evenly with Holliston for most of the game but a flurry of turnovers late in the second quarter led to a 9-0 Holliston run erasing North’s two point lead and creating a 29-22 halftime deficit. North had a balanced attack led by Katie Corsetti’s 10 points and 6 rebounds. North also got solid two-way contributions from Sam Faria (9 pts and 2 assists), Sam Sweeney (7 pts, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) and Mary Ellen Charette (4 pts and 8 rebounds).

The girls will face Taunton in the consolidation game of the tournament at 1pm today.
