“Avery Gamble scored 20 points to lead the Tigers to a third straight win. Gamble got OA off to a good start offensively, scoring half of her team’s 14 in the first to put the visitors up by four. The teams split 16 points in the second but Zoey Swanson exploded for 13 points in the third quarter, including a three and 6-of-8 at the line, to help OA push the lead to nine going to the fourth. OA coach Brian Costello praised Swanson’s patience against the North zone. Gamble scored six more in the fourth and Hannah Dupill nailed a three to help the Tigers pull out the win. Maeve Horsman added nine points for OA. North was led by its freshmen. Isabella Houghton scored a team-high 10 points (five in each half) and Jordan Egan added six.”

Girls JV Earned a Great Win Tonight vs Oliver Ames, 52-34

Riley Rea, Alex Izzo and Karoline Maier kicked off the scoring early in the first quarter. Oliver Ames got into foul trouble in the second quarter and put North into the bonus. Maiya Martelli buried a long range 3 to stretch the North lead at the end of the first half.

After a slow start to second half for north. The girls picked things up with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd. Ignited by a strong effort from Rea, the team went on a 16-0 run to end the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter Easton tried to cut into lead but north team defense was too strong. Big rebounding and defensive efforts from Jocelyn Robichaud, Shannon Carr and Jill O’Hara helped to secure the win for North. Rea finished with a team-high/game-high 24 points.

Girls JV looks to keep their winning ways going at home next week with games vs Attleboro and Foxboro.
